Hi ! Today is a very special date 7.8.9 …coming once in a Life Time ! It is very special for some collectors who have a passion for collecting special date cancellations. They must be posting letters on this day to their friends. I also just posted to some of my friends and hope that they will receive them with clear date cancellation. But it is always doubtful whether the person would receive the letter with very clear date postmark as it all depends on the staff of Postal Deptt. How they put cancellation ?? It would have been nice if they had given instruction to give nice cancellation on letters coming to post office today …But it’s not practically possible….. Hope they will be considerate today for all philatelists of the world who are posting letters today to get this special date cancellation !! Recently India Post issued a set of 11 stamps & a MS to commemorate Jaidev & Geetgovind. As the number of stamps is big, it is quite difficult to accommodate all the the stamps on the official FDC properly. So many philatelists have designed their own FDCs. Here are nice FDCs designed by noted Indian philatelists Mr Prashant Pandya of Vadodara and Mr. Shrikant Parikh of Ahmedabad.
