International White Cane Safety Day - 15th October 2009
Awareness of the “Symbol of Independence”
On the occasion of International White Cane safety Day the Lions District Governor K.L. Subramanyam PMJF a multi Coloured Special Postal Cover and Cancellation was issued at General Post Office, Bangalore-560001 on 15th October 2009 at 10 AM .
Louie Braille’s Birth Bi-Centenary Stamps which has Braille imposition over the commutative postage stamp affixed covers are available at Philatelic Counter of GPO, Bangalore soon after the release. Those who are posting any letter/post card can get this
special postal cancellation done at the Philatelic section of GPO which is the date stamp of this Special Day. On 8th October 2009 World Sight Day was observed – these covers are also now available in GPO for general public and stamp collectors. For More visit :
