Hi ! In today’s Post a new souvenir sheet on Darwin issued by Austria Post to commemorate 200th Birth Anniversary of Charles Darwin. Its a nice souvenir sheet signifying the theory of Evolution by Charles Darwin which has become a landmark in the field of biology. 200th Birth Anniversary of Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin is known for his position that he took on evolution. He believed that evolution occurred and that the evolutionary changes took place over millions of years. He also believed in a process called "natural selection" which is one of the current concepts of modern biology. His final theory about evolution is that all species came from a single life form. His beliefs in evolution contradicted many religious beliefs then, and still do today.

Philatelic Society of Rajasthan and St. Xavier’s School has been organizing ‘Schoolpex’, - an Inter School Stamp Exhibition every year for the last 13 years with the object of child education through Philately. The 14th Inter School Stamp Exhibition namely Schoolpex-2009 is being held from 4th Dec to 7th in Jaipur. A Special Cover and Cancellation issued was issued on the subject ‘ India in Space ’ . The cover depicts Indian Space Programme ‘Chandrayan’ & Telescope situated at Ladakh . A special cancellation showing symbolic Indian Flag on Moon’ is used to cancel stamps.
The Chief Guest, Sh Ambesh Upmanyu appreciated all the the exhibits, particularly displayed by Sanskar School, Bal Bhawan’s Vidyashram and St. Xaviers Exhibits. The Exhibition also included a display by Mr Rajesh Paharia showing stamps on Indian Astronauts Mr Rakesh Sharma and Ms Kalpana Chawla. PSR members requested Chief Guest, Sh Ambesh Upmanyu to send a recommendation for release of Stamp on ‘Chandrayan’ which has caught attention of whole world.
