Hi ! Today I am pleased to write about the recent philatelic activity in Kullu. A District level Philatelic Exhibition KULLUPEX 2010 started here today. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr Raj Krishan Purthy, ADM Kullu. Mr B.S. Thakur, Managing Director, Bhuttico Weavers Ltd. was the special guest at the exhibition. A special cover on Bhuttico Weavers Co-operative Society was released during the exhibition. A large number of visitors and children of OLS School, Kullu visited the exhibition. Kullu is famous for its beautiful shawls, caps and Mufflers all over the world. Kullu shawls are extremely beautiful and are known for its rich and flamboyant colors and patterns. BHUTTICO is a brand name, known for making best quality & exquisite designs of shawls, caps and Mufflers in the country. Bhuttico is authorized user of the WOOLMARK logo. The exhibition will conclude on 24th March with the Prize Distribution Ceremony. Bhuttico is the most reputed name in the hand-woven woolen shawl industry in Kullu. Since 1944, Bhuttico has been keeping alive the Himalayan traditions in step with the latest trends.In 1993-94 Bhuttico proved itself the best in the business of handloom shawls by winning the National Award (GOLD) from the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. A group of 12 weavers from Bhutti village came together in the year 1944 and established a cooperative society known as the Bhutti Weavers Cooperative Society.Bhuttico is authorized user of the WOOLMARK logo.
