To be issued on 1 June 2009Hi ! Here are some recent issues on Astronomy which I liked very much. The designs are very good and fascinating . The beautiful set by Gibraltar will be issued on 1 June 2009. Another two beautiful stamps shown below were issued by Luxembourg on 12 May 2009.There are so many stamps being issued by several nations to celebrate International Year of Astronomy and as a 2009 EUROPA theme. The year 2009 is being celebrated as the the 400th anniversary of the first observations made by Galileo with the aid of a telescope.Astronomy, the oldest of the sciences, is also considered the “Queen” of sciences. The first men who left their caves studied the sky and adapted their way of life to the motion of the sun, moon, and stars, have been commemorated on stamps related with Astronomy. Their contribution to the field of Astronomy is a milestone !
